Emerald Valley - Intro and acknowledgements
I just recently learned how to make a "clean save file" so I can get an empty world, add my own builds, renovations and favorite Sims, create the lore of the town, and save a "clean" beginning-of-game file that I can share with others.

Emerald Valley was created from scratch by Plumbob95, and put on her YouTube channel for others to use. It is an empty world that she is gradually building up with her own creations. Her builds can be found on her channel. The link to the world can be found attached to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy5IGSvQS9g&t=2s
I have all packs, and I think I used elements of most of them.
Most of the houses in my version of the world are my own creations with the exception of a house or two from either EA or downloaded from The Exchange. Many of the community lots are renovations of shells from Roseward, an apocalytic world created by nigalkins, and can be found on the Sims 3 Catalog website or are my own creations. I also have a renovated home from World Adventures that has been converted into an Asian restaurant, and I used a train depot from Kingsbury by AnnetStore, which can be found on the Exchange.
Most of the characters were either created by me or were spawned from Nraas Story Progression, and I fell in love with them. However there are a few that were borrowed from EA worlds.
There is very little custom content with the exception of Jynx Rabbithole Rugs, a few hairstyles from shushilda, the Linea Natura diningroom set by buffsumm, the CC that came with the Roseward world download, and a few things where I have unfortunately forgotten the creator. With all the problems with my EA App, I had lost my CC file when I started my game recently. The game still works fine - things have been replaced by base game objects, but if you find something you don't like or that doesn't seem to make sense, this is due to lack of CC or possibly store content.
Store content is more prevalent: the climbing wall, the castle building kit, bakery oven, pizza oven, Asian grilling table, Grim's Door of Life and Death and his Ghastly Manor, the poker tables and the 70s, 80s, and 90s stuff pack - to name a few. I also have most EA worlds, with the exception of Lucky Palms, Sunlit Tides, Roaring Heights and Aurora Skies, so items from those worlds may also be present.
Here's my save file - I hope it works as I have never tried to share one before.

Here is a glimpse of the town - all buildings are walk-ins, and many feature rabbithole rugs:
I lightly populated the world with Sims, so let's get to know a few of them.
I'll start with Tamara Emerson and her little house that was a shell challenge. Tamara is a young adult whose family has always told her they descended from elves. She has an interest in the supernatural and has just arrived to Emerald Valley, and settled in the ancestral home she inherited from her grandparents.
Next, we have Spring Lai, who just moved (via Story Progression) from a small creepy house to "the Rookery" which is slightly larger but still has the same aesthetic (The Rookery is one of the few EA buildings I imported from the bin.) Spring has a Technology Degree, which she earned in order to please her science-minded parents, but she really wants to embrace her mystic side, so after graduation, she moved to Emerald Valley in order to take advantage of their school for the supernatural. Having no supernatural skills of her own at the moment she will only get so far, but with some luck and hard work, she might discover an elixir that will turn her into a witch. She signed up for witch school at the regular school, but I intend to build a magic school in her neighborhood for her to attend. Spring's traits are neurotic, slob, friendly, loves the outdoors, and schmoozer. (When the save begins, she will be in the smaller creepy house and have a big black dog with her, I think. I also don't remember her having a technology degree, but maybe Story Progression gave it to her.
The Thyme Family
This family, at the time I think I dropped them into this world, consisted of Gavin and his wife Leslie, (who fight constantly,) their daughter Athena, (who is a child), a female toddler, Jeanine, and Leslie is pregnant again. Will this family hold together or break apart? How will the parents' constant fighting affect their children?
The Whipsnake Family
This family consists of Zac Whipsnake, originally from Appaloosa Plains and his wife Sonyia, who is a "spare" from my LEPacy challenge. They never married as Zac has commitment issues, but they seem very happy together and are raising their son Antwan as a family. Zac is considerably older than Sonyia, and if he isn't an elder by the time the game starts, he soon will be. Sonyia's traits are irresistible, exciteable, never nude, snob, and coward. (I randomized traits for my LEPacy sims.) Antwan is clumsy, inappropriate, and a virtuoso.
The Winnibego Family
Aspen Colorado decided to take a gap year between high school and college to try to live a "Walden experience" by spending a full year in nature, fending for herself and living off the land. Through all four seasons, she would live off her own resources by fishing and growing her own food. Vinny Winnibego who had a secret crush on her, decided to tag along to "make sure Aspen didn't cheat" and provide moral support. By the end of the adventure, the couple got married and went to college together. Upon returning, Aspen soon became pregnant. This story can be found in detail under the "Aspen and Vinny" label in this blog.
Matilda Cattiwaller and her cats
After the death of her husband and her son striking out on his own, Matilda is left with her cats for company - not that she minds - her cats are her family.
The Wolfe Family
Patty Wolfe is a single mother struggling to raise her daughter on her own. She has worked several menial jobs in the past and has sacrificed getting ahead and better pay in order to devote time to raising Bridgette. Now that Bridgette is old enough to take care of herself, Patty has decided to pursue her own dream of owning her own bar. This story can be found in detail under the label "Be Happy" in this blog.
The Henderson-Gains Family
Rogelio Gains is a descendant of a spare from my LEPacy challenge. I stumbled across him in my game-play and thought he was interesting. Up to this point, I observed him, but just let him live his life. He took up with Story Progression - generated Brittney Henderson, daughter of a criminal who had criminal tendencies back in their hometown of Roseward. Rogelio, on the other hand, was a cop in that town. They have two children: Juliet and Abdul. Despite being on opposite ends of the spectrum career-wise in Roseward, they seem very much in love and looking for a new start and common ground.
The Ware-Wolfe Family
To be honest, I haven't spent a lot of time with this family. They were generated by Story Progression (I think) and moved into a house I had just finished and wanted to save to my library. They just came along for the ride, I guess.
I think these are all the families I placed. Feel free to give this game a try. If you do, please let me know how your game goes. Future Emerald Valley posts will be about what happens in my gameplay.
