LEPacy Challenge - Party, boyfriend, and changes to Monte Vista

I figured out why Monte Vista seems lacking in things to do - none of the Ambitions lots are in the town.  I have added the firehouse and a salon/tattoo shop and recolored the outside to fit better with the town. Now I need to add a consignment store somewhere. (I forgot to take screenshots of the firehouse and salon.)

Mandy is getting to know a lot of people now, and is settling in. She reached her lifetime wish of topping the ghost hunting profession and has turned to inventing as her new career - but she's doing more writing than inventing at the moment. She is now on her fourth sci-fi/fantasy book. Most of what she writes about is based on her ghost hunting career. Her latest work-in-progress is called The Exorcism of Tony Crook, who was one of the angry ghosts she banished or convinced to leave.

While Mandy was at her last ghost hunting job, her sweet little dog Snowball passed away. She sensed the loss and ran home to find Grim sitting on her couch and watching television.

Things were going well with Giacomo; they even made it to the woohoo stage, but when they went to place Snowball's grave at the cemetery, they stopped behind the mausoleum where I couldn't see them. I was scouting around for a place for the grave, when Mandy accused Giacomo of cheating (though I saw no indication that he did, and I don't have the celebrity track activated because I don't have Late Night activated yet. At any rate, Mandy broke it of with Giacomo.

Mandy threw a house party, and it went over well. There was dancing and entertainment from a guitarist. Someone brought grilled salmon, so Mandy didn't have to cook.

I changed out the couch from the one Grim was sitting on. The old one just looked too uncomfortable.

I still haven't found a single man with a conflicting trait to Mandy's, but I did find Cliff Gaines, who was a cop, has no personality traits, and whom Mandy doesn't find the least bit attractive, yet wanted to kiss him. She asked him out to the pub for a date.  At first I thought Florence Taylor was going to steal him from Mandy!

Mandy managed to lure him away from her and upstairs where they could be alone.

Mandy invited him over to her house and asked him to spend the night, but it didn't work out as planned. He slept in the roommate's twin bed, and the roommate, Jade Courtney, slept in Mandy's bed, and Mandy drank a lot of coffee until morning. (Jade is in the background).

Mandy and Cliff still seem to be getting along well - to a point.

They autonomously flirt until he gets to point where he finds Mandy alluring, but then he asks her a question, and then just thinks she's okay.  I think I'm going to force him into the household and make him woo and propose to her. I can get one of those brain machines and program some personality traits for him and make sure at least one is opposite from hers. She's approaching her adult life stage, so she really needs to get married and produce two children. She and Cliff don't have to stay married forever.

I did some renovating of the pub where they went before I sent them, and did further renovations to the downstairs after they left. The original, it looked like Granny Gert's Country Kitchen where she serves the early bird special from 4pm to 6pm. I made the upstairs a dance club and the downstairs an elegant restaurant.  I added a food register, so they could actually get something to eat, some stereos for ambiance, and I really wish I had professional bars, but will make due with the do-it-yourself kind.  I'm really missing the stuff from Late Night, so I think that will be the next pack added. Here are some pictures of the remodel.

I also created a walk-in business building using a rabbithole rug.  The original rabbithole was so pretty, but only a rabbithole.

The one I created isn't nearly as pretty on the outside, but is a place sims can actually visit and go to work.

I might try raising the roof a little and making the top more ornate. The front also needs something between the upstairs windows.  Maybe a sign?

I'm rather happy with how the inside turned out.

I put an architectural firm on the first floor, so Cliff will have a place to go to work when he becomes an architect.

Here's an overview of the office.

Here's the reception desk. The round rug in front is the rabbithole rug for the business and journalism career.

This is the view from the receptionist's desk. This lady fits right in!

As you climb the stairs, you find a small cafe. I figured Mandy could meet Cliff for lunch now and then.

Upstairs also has an office for business or journalism with an office for the boss and a cubicle farm for the worker bees, and a conference room.

It looks like the lady got promoted! What a go-getter!

The cubicle farm was too dark, so I have added more lights since these pictures were taken.

Mandy went and play-tested everything - including the whiteboard in the conference room. I changed the lot from No Visitors Allowed to Visitors Allowed, so people would show up.

To Do List:
  • Add Cliff to household and get them to the fiancĂ© stage
  • Adopt another dog
  • Build a consignment store or mall
  • Touch up the outside of the business building
  • Take photos of the firehouse and salon
