 Nine Days in the Life of Darien Spiotto

I was playing my Venus Rucker game in Midnight Hollow, but she married Nathan Watts and they had quadruplets. I didn't want to deal with crying babies, so I switched to the guy across the street until the kids enter the child stage. His name is Darien Spiotto, and I don't think he's a standard townie - I think Story Progression created him as he had no back story. I spruced up his house giving it some color and lightening it up a bit. I really love his library!


These Victorian houses can be really cute (I leave the outside dark, but I like to pretty up the inside.)




I have been battling with Darien about that ridiculous hat he insists on wearing.  I finally managed to get it out of every outfit except his work uniform.  He wanted to be a cop, so I sent him to get the job, but this is the outfit he insists on wearing to work. One of the first things he did during these nine days was going to see a magic act.  He even volunteered to go in the box.  The first time things didn't go well, as the magician wasn't that good at his craft.  Then it was Gah Ool the Ambivalent's turn, and he was pretty good, so Darien volunteered again - this time with success.


He spent the first part of the week visiting hotspots as he had a wish to visit five.  He checked the paper whenever possible to see where they would be. Once, he even met up with Venus and Nathan at the Precarious Pub and played a little pool with Nathan. (They must have gotten a sitter or something 😏)


Darien lives alone and seems pretty content with it, but he is looking around for some female companionship. He's playing the field at the moment. The one I think has the most potential is Dawn Hatfield, but he doesn't find her attractive. (The girl in the pink top.)

He really likes his boss, Maggie Flynn-Doe, but she's with someone. He did flirt with her at the karaoke bar, but she'd have none of it, and he apologized. They are good friends now.  At the same bar, Darien encountered an evil man who beat up the proprietor.  No one came to her aid, but after the fight, Darien flung a bottle of Mummy's Curse on him in retaliation. 


Later on that week, Darien went to a party his boss was throwing and encountered Marina Rosa Vasquez, a fascinating woman who was there with her much younger husband Fausto Alvarado Vasquez. When Fausto went upstairs to watch TV, Marina up and smooched Darien! When Darien flirted back, she was stand-offish and said she was with someone. I'm not sure what was going on in her head, but she did have the daredevil and party animal trait. Despite the age difference, Darien became very fond of the old woman who smooched him again, and he smooched back as the guy he had turned into a mummy the night before looked on disapprovingly.


The next day he ran into her at the pool where he had invited Dawn Hatfield to try and get to know her better. It's not every woman who would wear such an elaborate hairdo to go swimming.  She could make spectacular dives and emerge without a hair out of place! What a woman!


Unfortunately Grim caught up with the spunky old broad. When Darien heard the news, he sought solace by crying on his boss Maggie's shoulder. (Again with the ridiculous hat, Darien?)




Will Darien find true love? Who knows.  The quadruplets have become children now, and I need to replace their cribs and get to know them better.  I checked on them while Darien slept, and that house looked like an ant hill! I made a good choice to drop in on someone else for a few days.  Since Darien had a rabbit hole job, and there were no other household members, I explored the town and took some pictures of the awesome architecture. I'll leave this post with a sampling. Most of these are in and around Diagon Alley, the business center, but one is of the old abandoned train depot that is next door to Darien's house.  I wish trains were a thing in the Sims 3.  I guess you could use the subway portals or llamas and disguise them as train stations.

4 Seasons #7: Aspen and Vinny - The bachelor party and miscellaneous observations.

 At the beginning of Spring, Aspen and Vinny had their first spat. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Vinny channeled  his obnoxious inner nerd and insulted Aspen's intelligence.  She was mad at him all day, and they spent the day apart doing their own things.  Too much togetherness can be a bad thing.  At any rate, they quickly patched things up. This woman is bad news.  Her name is Hayley Thibordeaux. She's married to a guy named Garth and both of them are hopeless romantics. She was incessantly flirting with Vinny. At first, Vinny seemed immune to her advances.  He enthused about his upcoming wedding, etc., but she was persistent, and he finally flirted back. I sent him home before he got into too much trouble.
