In Remembrance of Charles Elmer Culpepper

  Sagehen Mesa native Charles "Chuck" E. Culpepper passed away in his at his home yesterday. He was known by locals as an avid fisherman . . .   and all around good guy. Chuck was the first born son of Oscar and Evelyn Culpepper and spent his childhood fishing, exploring painting and sculpting, and trying to keep his younger brother Ben out of trouble. Chuck graduated from Sagehen Mesa High School and soon married Milly Jordan. The couple never had any children of their own, so he poured his nurturing into his pack of dogs.   Chuck always took an interest in the youth in town, doting on them and giving them advice.  Chuck was a civil servant, and served on the town council for several years.  After the death of his parents and his wife Milly, Chuck moved in with his brother Ben in their old homestead, where he stayed until he met and fell in love with Kellee Hirsh. They were soon wed. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Milly, . ....

Sagehen Mesa - Season 2 - Episode 10 - Cliff the Lonely Kingpin

 Amateurs! Good employees are hard to find. Since the Thurstons and that pretty-boy Trever were taken out of play, I'm left as the top dog of the organization. Boy has it been rough.  I've had to lie low for quite some time, and the buzzberry business has been destroyed. I've been hiding underground - literally.  When everything fell apart, I headed for the hills. I established a new hideout and camped out there while I dug out my current abode nearby. It's not much, but I'm getting by. There's no plumbing here, but I'm a hop, skip and jump from the church which tends to be vacant every day except Sunday. There's  a decent shitter there. For showers, I have to sneak over to the renovated school house my snooty scientist sister financed. I think she's deluding herself thinking the kids in this town have any interest in science, but she put a state-of-the-art science facility in it just the same.  I'm a bit of a scientist myself in my own way, so I...

Sagehen Mesa - Season 2 - Part 9- Jolene's Update

 Hey, it's me, Jolene. I'm home for school break.  Wow! I left town for a short amount of time, came back, and everything's different!  I see Rae read my email and took some action. The Thursons and Rae's no-good ex-boyfriend are behind bars; Dr. Baum "took a runner" as a friend in college would say, and Cliff Mahon is hiding out. Also, the criminal hideout at the fishing pond and the buzzberry farm have been destroyed, . . . . . . and Uncle Sam has moved to town and gotten married. (Yes, I know Sam isn't really my uncle, but that's the way I've thought about him since I was a kid and he hung out with my real Uncle Jude.) The fact that Sam married Cliff's ex-girlfriend is hilarious! They aren't the only ones getting married around here.  All my friends seem to be getting married. Clancy is marrying Rae, and Hector got married to Hannah Baum and is now living in that big, fancy house with her. When is it going to be my turn to get married? I...
